LO5: D2: Evaluating the negative impact of my product

Image
Critically evaluate how the negative impacts of converging technology will be minimised within the proposed campaign In this report I will be discussing the key problems that my product might have on society. To do this I will also be discussing the hypodermic syringe theory by Adorno and Horkheimer (1947) which implies that media has a negative impact and that mass audiences believe everything they see and hear as part of 'culture industry'. Alongside that I will talk about the Moral Panic theory by Stanley Cohen (1972) which is instance of mass public concern/panic in response to a media product. These can threaten groups of people or morals of society. Lastly I will speak about how this can be solved or minimised preventing the negative effects. My product could cause negative effects due to some songs use of slurs, mainly the N word. This can cause a problem because some people think that because it is a word on a song they can say it which isn't the c...

LO5: P9: Feedback and Evaluation

Image
Explain Analysed Feedback for Project Feasibility I sent out this survey to the people who watched my presentation to get their feedback and these are the responses. To summarise, they both agreed that my product was suitable and realistic and gave me some feedback on things that I could improve/include. Evaluation I emailed the feedback survey to the people who watched my presentation in order to gain feedback and potentially some new ideas. After reviewing my feedback, I learnt that I could include ads that are more targeted towards certain genres. I could also further research the laws around copyright music and how streaming services are allowed to use them. I don't think that I would change anything about my product currently but potentially there may be some more things that I might think of that I could include to make my product better or potentially more viable in the future.

Be able to Present a planned Proposal that will widen audience reach through the use of Converging technologies https://youtu.be/S1vFmmglK80 Prototypes/Designs/Wireframes Visualisation diagram This visualisation diagram shows the colour scheme of pink and purple. the red images will not be included they are just sample images. in the actual app they will be photos related to the playlists. The playlists are made up of songs that are recommended to the users based on their listening history. it will take songs that they have listened to and combine it with similar songs. I chose the colour scheme of pink and purple because they look nice together along with both black and white depending if they have their app/phone on light mode or dark mode. they are also bright enough to make it stand out without being to bright. Wireframes The wire frame shows the general layout of my app on the search, Library and groups pages. On the library menu, when you click on the song/album/playlist, it...

LO4: P7: Proposal

Create a project proposal specification document for the new product  Create a project proposal specification document for the new product PRODUCT IDEA My idea for a new interactive product is a music app that allows people to listen to their favourite music and allows users to create groups with their friends and family where they can work together to create playlists and then have the choice to either listen to the playlist that they have created together or share and listen to their existing personal playlists whether they're in the same room or across the world.   The freemium version will have a limit of 5 people per group and songs can only be listened to in mono (played using only one audio channel meaning that th e   sounds   in   both ears are equal)  There will be a premium version which users can upgrade to  to have up to 12 people in a group. It will also have better quality sound and will allow users to listen in stereo (played ...

Be able to create a proposal using converging technologies to exploit the identified new markets. Introduction In this report I will be discussing the distribution methods I will use for my media product such as social media, web, the App Store and the play store. Due to this my product will be able to be used on mobile devices such as Mobile phones and touchscreen tablets such as iPads as well as fixed devices such as PC and TV's. I will also be discussing how I will target my audience through advertising methods such as the use of social media channels like TikTok and Instagram and why these methods will be effective for my target  audience. Explain distribution methods/platforms There are many ways that a product can be distributed and these depend on what the product is. For my product, it is available as both an app and also on the web, which is a channel of distribution, this means that the platforms that it will be available on a...

Be able to illustrate how the legal, ethical, social and moral issues are considered within the product proposal My product Idea: My product is a music app that will allow people to listen to their favourite music. Users are able to create accounts and send friend requests to people. Once they follow each other, they are able to create groups together (minimum 2 people). Within these groups friends will be able to listen to music together. It will also allow them to collaborate to create playlists and listen to them together. To locate friends to send requests they can either type the username in the search bar or they will have the option of quick add if they have the friend in their contacts.  Legal: One legal issue I will face when creating my product is Intellectual Property Rights. These are rights that are granted to creators and owners of works that are a result of human intellectual creativity. Since my product is a music streaming service, this links to my product si...

LO2:  Be able to correlate the evolution of new media organisational cultures and roles which have impacted the product proposal. I have chosen the media conglomerate of Apple to show how organisations have been forced to evolve due to new technology and why that has changed the market place. Apples subsidiary, Apple Music has a browse option which allows users to find new music and spreads new ideologies which is an advantage of globalisation. Globalisation is  the  production, distribution, and consumption of media products on a global scale. This has prompted the music industry to become more diverse as it opens people up to new genres such as R&B or Alternative. Having the browse option has changed the market place as it allows lesser known artists acquire an audience and therefore earn revenue. One way apple music has used new technology is that if a user has Bluetooth headphones they are able to also link to a second pair. For example if the user is with a frien...
