Introduction

In this report I will be discussing the distribution methods I will use for my media product such as social media, web, the App Store and the play store. Due to this my product will be able to be used on mobile devices such as Mobile phones and touchscreen tablets such as iPads as well as fixed devices such as PC and TV's. I will also be discussing how I will target my audience through advertising methods such as the use of social media channels like TikTok and Instagram and why these methods will be effective for my target audience.

Explain distribution methods/platforms

There are many ways that a product can be distributed and these depend on what the product is. For my product, it is available as both an app and also on the web, which is a channel of distribution, this means that the platforms that it will be available on are both mobile devices such as mobile phones and laptops and also on fixed devices such as TV and also pc. In order for me to achieve this my product will be available on the App Store, the Play Store and on the internet. Users can download the app form onto their phone from the app store if they have an iPhone or the play store if they have an Android.

Identify and justify how audiences will be targeted

My target audience is people of all genders between the ages of 13-30. In order to target my target audience when advertising my product I will advertise through social media such as Instagram and TikTok. This would be good because most people in my target audience use at least one of these if not both. TikTok has a wide reach due to it’s for you page which allows users to discover new creators to follow and anyone has the chance of appearing on it. I could create a short video showcasing the app or a short demonstration of how to use it. On Instagram you can pay for you post to become a promotional which will push it to people who don’t follow you along with the people who do. I could repost my videos from TikTok and also post photos of my app and logo etc. We could create a more in depth video where we explain the functions and how it works etc on Youtube. We could also create an advert that could be shared on YouTube, social media and possibly even on TV. We could create a poster/billboard to advertise it.

Conclusion

In conclusion, distribution and advertising are hugely important part of the process when it comes to the creation and release of a product my product will be distributed to allow for the most amount of people to be able to access it. I will also target my audience when advertising my product with the use of social media. This will lead to the success of my product.
